Like Greg Mortenson did in the book Three Cups of Tea he made a promise and did not know if he was going to be able to achieve that promise or not. Greg’s promise was to build a school in Korphe for the children after the people in the town saved him after his attempt in climbing K-2. I can relate to Greg in a way because I have made a promise to my brother before, after he paid for something that I wanted, and I told him that I would pay him back as soon as I get the money. My worry was I did not know how I could get that money, so I new I had to work hard on that part. Eventually I did end up getting the money that I owed him. I regret the promise that I made because if I  didn’t get the thing that I wanted then me promising to pay him back would not have happened. But I did learn that making a promise is hard and it is very hard to keep it.

There are many different thoughts about what the true purpose of life is. Not everyone’s thoughts are the same because their life may be different then your, and that may change their purpose of life. There is no right or wrong answer when you get asked it or you just think it to yourself. For me the meaning of if is to learn from failure, do what is right for you and your surroundings, and to treat people the way you want to be treated. Yours might be similar to mine, but no matter what live your life with hope, and joy!
